This bead counting activity is a great way to build on those number recognition skills. Some kids learn to count before they’re able to identify numbers, the activity helps them see how counting corresponds to the numbers they see.
All you'll need is:
Construction paper
Beads
Tape or glue
Markers
Instructions
Cut pieces of construction paper, I choose to do stars.
Then write numbers 1 through 10 on each piece of paper.
Then tape or glue the construction paper to the piececleaners.
How to implement the activity?
Fill a small container with beads, I use salt dough beads from a previous activity.
Then ask your child to place the appropriate number of beads on each pipe cleaner to match the corresponding number.
