Shape Suncatcher

These sun catchers are a great opportunity for toddlers to work on their shape recognition, sorting and fine motor skills.

What you’ll need is

  • Construction Paper

  • Contact paper

  • Scissors

  • Tape

Instructions

  1. Cut out big frames in basic shapes (circle, rectangle, square and triangle).

  2. Place each frame on the contact paper and trace the hole in each frame. Cut the contact paper shapes the contact paper should be a bit bigger than the hole but smaller than the entire frame.

  3. Now stick the contact paper shapes onto the frames.

  4. Place the suncatchers, sticky side out, on a window and tape it down.

  5. Prepare a container with small shape cutouts. I used scrap construction paper to make my shapes but you can use felt or tissue paper.
